Hi, needing help with this question in my assignment.
The Question:
Knowing what behaviours contribute to fire injury and fatalities is an important part of your role when working with young children.
Access the link provided and click on the Home Interactive Guide from Raising Children website.
• Select the three (3) – five (5) year old age group and Click on START
• Select the Living and Dining Room section of the map and work your way through the interactive guide.
From your research:
a) List two behaviours that children may display which will potentially contribute to a fire injury.
1. They can stand too close to a fire heater where their clothes may catch on fire
2. Child could start a fire and cause injury by throwing things such as soft toys or pillows into the fireplace or heater if left alone
(The only thing they show to do with fires in the Home Interactive Guide is the heater, was thinking about talking about matched or lighters but its not showed in the guide could i still write that)
b)Identify the high risk groups for fire injury and fatalities
(Is this age groups ?)

Re: CHCECE002- Health and Safety
Yes, you're on the right track with your response!
Also, heaters can cause a fire if something such as a curtain or toy is put too close, or if a child goes into a kitchen and turns the knobs on the stove they could cause a fire or if candles are placed around the room during sleep time they could fall and cause a fire. Heaters could also cause fires if they short circuit etc.
Yes the high-risk groups would probably be the age groups...
Hope this helps!
