Hi Ash,

Just a heads up... I found another topic in this forum which discusses the term duty of care and what you can do to ensure you are complying by it. It is a different module then yours, however the information will be useful to you as well...

Hopefully this should help you answer your question,

Cheers :geek:,

Hello everyone , im a new user and im not really fluent in english, but i hope in this website, someone can give examples and idea for my assessment.
Duty in Care says that we have to avoid acts that are likely to injure other people.
.Identify and discuss an act (an action) of a child care worker that is likely to cause injury to the children in their care.
.Suggest some basic ways that you would exercise Duty of Care to ensure the well-being of children in your care in relation to act. :(

Hi I am unsure as to how to answer this,

b. How can the QIAS standards affect the daily routines in your centre? Give 3 examples in your response.

Would it be something like..
The QIAS standards affect the daily routines in the centre by encouraging staff to provide high quality care rather than just the standard. Then give examples.. Or am I on the wrong track?

Hi Harmony,

Yes you are on the right track with your answer... I think if you go through the QIAS the qualities and the principles it will provide you with a list of evidence that the centre you work in needs to display in order to reach the highest standard. I also think that it effect centres in a positive way as it allows us to make sure we are providing high quality care to the children.

Have a look at the following link where you can find out more info on the Quality Areas:

1) http://www.ncac.gov.au/child_care_profe ... _areas.asp

By the way, I'm not too sure whether you are referring to the New National Quality Standards that are coming into effect. The link I have given you above is for the current quality areas. These are soon to be fazed out into the NQS. Let me know, if you need any info for the NQS and I'll try to help you out...
