hello..I would really need help to answer this few questions:
Assessment H -Reflective Practice
Read the following examples of emotional outbursts and describe what you would do in each cases.
1) Three year old Mira is from Sri Lanka and spent six months in a refugee camp before arriving in Australia. She is very possessive over the toys in the centre and reacts violently when Sacha, also aged three tries to take one of the blocks from the shelf she is sitting next to. She hits Sacha over the head with the puzzle she is playing with and tries to bite Sacha's arm.
My answer First I would take Mira away from Sacha to protect Mira from getting hit or bitten by Mira. Comfort Sacha and do not tell Mira off as she hasnt done anything wrong due to her background and stress. Get Sacha to play together with me, ignore Mira for awhile as to make her to feel that she doesnt get attention and than she might realize what she done doesnt work.
2) Twins, Josh and Adam, aged 2 years have been attending the service for 8 weeks. It is their first time in care away from their mom who has had to return to work. The began screaming and kicking in the car and their Mum has trouble getting them out of the car.
Answer : am stuck with this??
3) Clare, aged 5 years is usually collected from the centre each day by her Mother at 4pm. Her mother has just rung to say she is running late. What do you tell Clare?
My answer : Clare, your mom will be coming later, do you want to read you a story book while waiting for your mom to come?
Would really appreciate if you could see if i answer question 1 and 3 correctly and help me with question 2 which i have no idea how to write that one..thanks in advance
