Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHC30708 building partnerships and interaction assessment
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes

Your Question?
Decision making: examples of how to appropriately engage children in making decisions throughout the day; infant aged to 8 Months; child aged 1.10 years; a child aged to 4 years; a child aged 8 years

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Be aware of body language. Recognise child's attempt to tell you what they like so you can be focused on allowing them to make choices

4 year old ask open ended questions, listen to them,

8 years focus on more detail encourage the child to think about what they are doing

You can also include:

pointing, making eye contact towards preferred choice (body language)
offering between 2 choices (for e.g milk or water)
voting (for older children. for e.g do you want to stay in or go out and play)
simply asking for their preferences (for e.g. which do you prefer)
tally (create a tall with older children for e.g where to have afternoon tea indoors or out).

Hope this helps,
