Assignment help

Post by vaish » Fri Jul 03, 2020 10:25 am

Hi Lorina,
I am stuck with the below 3 quesions,

1)Create a cleaning roster for a preschool room, including bathroom and kitchen areas.

2)As an educator, you will assist with to administering of medication. Part of your role is to ensure that the correct medication dosage is given.
Read this label for children’s Panadol, and note the dosage for each of the age groups.
Age Average weight Dose
2-3 years 12-14kg 6-8ml
3-4 years 14-16 kg 8-9ml
4-5 years 16-18kg 10-11ml
Warning: Do not give more than four doses in one day or within any 24-hour period. Do not use for more than 48 hours at a time except on medical advice.
How many ml of medication should James, who is 18 months old.

My Answer is:
• Do not give more than 4 doses in one day or within any 24-hour period.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose for your child.
• Do not use for more than 48 hours at a time except on medical advice

Below are the things that need to checked BEFORE administering medication to a child,
Check medication form, previously completed and signed by parent/guardian
 All label information coincides with authorized medication form
 In original packaging
 Right child, check child's name and date of birth on label
 Right medication - check label
 Expiry date has not passed
 Right dosage - check label and authorization form
 Check measuring device and double check with another Educator, both educators must sign the medication form, date and make note of the time
Keep hydrating him with liquids
And immediately see doctor if He/she has fever over 40 degree Celsius

3)Describe how you would create an environment that would support children to rest. Include some ideas for children who do not require to sleep during the day.
my answer:
All the children require some amount of sleep to regain their energy, so its educator responsibility to make sure that the sleeping areas are safe and comfortable for them to sleep. Although sleeping needs varies upon individual children’s, I would provide a safe sleep environment for sleeping children’s by:
Checking all the bedding and cots need are hygienic and safe. (Cots need to comply with the Australian Safety Standard for cots AS 2172)
Washing the bedding for each child, and wipe the beds after each use. Also Wipe the Waterproof cot mattresses with soapy water and place them in the sun to dry.
Making sure that the cot has no horizontal bars are used in order to prevent the baby from climbing out.
Checking the locking devices and stability of the cot before using it, especially if it’s second hand.
Checking all the mattress are firm
Checking for rough surfaces, sharp edges, paint chips or parts that stick out, like screws and space between bars is 50-95 mm – gaps wider than 95 mm as that could trap child’s head or let the child fall out of the cot.
Most importantly when it comes to placing babies to sleep, I always make sure that the guidelines are followed to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), where a healthy baby dies suddenly during sleep. These include:
 Placing baby on their back in the cot.
 Laying babies with their feet at the bottom of the cot.
 Ensuring a comfortable temperature in the nursery.
 Not to place toys, cot bumpers, quilts, or pillows in the cot.
Most importantly Carrying out checks every five to ten minutes on all sleeping babies and for those children who do not require sleep during the day, I will give them quiet activities instead. These includes:
 Cushions and reading books in a quiet corner
 Paper and colored pens at a table away for the sleeping area
 Mystery boxes filled with items for children to explore on their beds
 Threading, etc.

Am i on thr right track?Pls help me with these question,Thanks..

So with the questions, your answers don't answer the questions.

2) How many ml of medication should James, who is 18 months old.
You never answered how much medication you should give James.

3) Describe how you would create an environment that would support children to rest. Include some ideas for children who do not require to sleep during the day.
- close the blinds
- put on some calming music
- provide quiet activities for children who don't sleep.

Hope this helps!
