Question:
You are required to write a summary/ reflection on everything you know about aboriginal and / Torres strait Island Cultures. Word count 150 minimum


Answer:

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples inhabited most of the Australian continents. They used different languages and dialects to identify the different groups. They are very good in adapting to their environment which they used to be able to survived for so many years. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander keeps their cultural heritage by passing their knowledge, arts, rituals and performances,their different languages and by protecting their cultural materials, significant sites and objects from one generation to another. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders can be identified through their land areas,their relationship with others and their stories which they express through their ceremony, arts,religion,sports and family. They also have this so called Kinship which show their special relationship to each other based on their clan or kin. This so called kinship plays an important role when it comes to marriage and governs their everyday behaviour. Kinship is all about meeting the obligations to one's clan. Aboriginals people all had knives, spears, various vessels for eating and drinking and they also have digging sticks. They also used stone tools to make things and to prepare food and to chop wood. Ceremonial performances are also part of their cultural life. Aboriginals expresses themselves through music,song and dance as it is an important part of their culture. Song and dances were used if there is gathering and when trade goods were being exchanged.
