hi all, im having trouble finding specific information for the table on childhood illnesses. more specifically- appropriate action to take in an early childhood setting.
here is what i would suspect be the appropriate answers for each illness:
-common cold: call the parent to notify them and pick up child if fever does not subside.
-conjunctivitis: call parent and notify them, if interfering with childs day, ask to pick up child, if not interfering... keep child as comfortable as possible.
- constipation: keep an eye on child throughout week, talk to parent about suspicions on possible constipation.
- diarrhoea: keep a note of childs symptoms, notify the centre director. if child has continuous symptoms, contact parent to pick up child.
- chicken pox: keep an eye on child, if fever does not subside or rash spreads, call parent to pick up child and advise seeing a doctor asap
- ear infections: keep an eye on the child, if the child will not settle, fever spikes, etc. contact parent. if parent cannot pick up early, keep the child comfortable till the leave.
-fever: make child as comfortable as possible, contact parent for a pick up.
- head lice: check childs hair, if head lice are present, contact parent for immediate pick up.
- hand foot and mouth: keep an eye on child, if fever spikes, rash spreads, etc. contact parent for pick up.
- whooping cough: keep child as comfortable as possible, if fever spikes, it is affecting their day at care, etc. contact parent for pick up.
can anyone please tell me if im heading in the right track? i will expand all answers what i can, am i missing any key points?
THANKYOU
