Hi!
I work in a Kindergarten and am thinking of doing my Bachelor of Early Learning online with Latrobe.
I have a Diploma, so the pros for me is are that I can work whilst doing it, it will only take 2.5 years, and half of my placement can be included in my work hours.
The cons are that I am 53 (so time is ticking away) and also that I have no idea of what the workload will be like.
Has anyone done their Bachelor online, or with Latrobe, and was the workload somewhat daunting?
I don't want to start it, then figure out that it is too laborious and will suck all the spare hours from my life!
On the other hand, if I am ever going to do it, now is the time.
If you have any thoughts for/against, or just general input, I would really like to hear from you.
Thanks for reading,
Coelix

Re: Bachelor Degree Online Workload Questions
Hi Coelix,
I haven't done my degree with LaTrobe., however doing a degree the workload is intense... It's not impossible to do but you need to set aside time to complete assignments and to study. Questions really require in-depth responses and you will need to be able to go to the library or have access to course books in order to understand the theory... using information from the web is not enough so you have to spend your time researching elsewhere (library for example)....
When deciding to complete your degree you need to figure out how it can help you in the future... for example, if you are wanting to be an ECT or if you want to become a Director than there are reasons to work towards the degree... if you are happy with what you are doing now then an ECT is not necessary...
Again with the workload... for some it's easy and for others, it's a little more complicated but the support of the teachers at uni will help you... it's not a problem...
You just have to work out if it's something you want to commit to for 2 and a half years of study...
