Post by law92 » Sat Jan 04, 2014 2:08 am

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Edc1100
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
I have been asked to develop a learning episode to teach my preschool children how belonging functions in the community and how the engagement of difference might be further promoted.

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
I thought of theming the learning episode around NAIDOC week and doing activities that focus on difference and belonging; not sure of what activities to do though? To achieve this outcome.

I've got some information which I will provide to you... Also, when teaching children about belonging and differences I think it's important to do this on a daily basis in order for them to gain a meaningful understanding of these concepts. Celebrating specific cultural days or cultural holidays isn't enough for the children to develop meaning...
