Funding for Preschool Programs in NSW UsagHumphreys

To support the delivery of preschool programs for children in long day care centres, a $20 million fund has recently been announced for NSW.

Services will be paid according to the number of children aged 4 or 5 in the preschool room (in the year before schooling), who are participating in an approved early childhood educational program.

The funding received to each LDC setting will be used to purchase resources, support the delivery of the preschool program based on the EYLF framework and to enable educators to upgrade their qualifications.

The amount paid will be equal to approximately $300 for each 4 to 5 year old enrolled in the preschool program that does not already receive grants from the Directorate. Funding will be targeted to LDC services that are not currently funded under historic grant arrangements.
