Fee-free early childhood education and care training are available to any eligible NSW resident, regardless of age, employment status or prior qualifications.

A wide range of full and part qualifications are available, including Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. These courses provide pathways to employment including early childhood educators and educators in before and after school care programs.

Educators already working in the industry can also upskill if they enrol in courses this year, and bolster their qualifications so they can take on new roles as early learning educators.

You may be able to study a fee-free course in early childhood education and care if you are:

  • aged 16 and over
  • no longer at school
  • living or working in NSW
  • an Australian/New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder.

You do not have to work in the early childhood education and care sector or have previous industry experience to access fee-free full and part qualifications in early childhood education and care.

Training is fully funded by the NSW and Commonwealth governments.
