On 21 June, Literacy Hub is conducting a free webinar on Phonological and phonemic awareness: From theory to practice. This webinar is designed to provide teachers with an explanation of these concepts, while also providing practical activities and strategies for use with children.
About The Webinar:
Providing teachers and educators with a clear idea of phonological and phonemic awareness is very important because it helps readers to understand the alphabetic principle (that the letters in words are systematically represented by sounds). Phonological awareness is essential for reading because written words correspond to spoken words.
The webinar also aims to give an explanation of concepts, and also will provide practical activities and strategies for use in your classrooms.
Audience:
Foundation/Year 1 teachers; beginning teachers; teachers new to phonics.
About The Speaker:
Rebecca and Katie both are experienced coaches in phonetics literacy. Both are passionate about supporting educators' understanding and implementation of evidence-informed approaches to effective literacy instruction.
Time and Date:
Tue, Jun 21, 2022, 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM AEST
