This week we continue to celebrate Diwali (29th - 30th October) through simple craft activities.
Diwali celebrated all over by family and loved ones, commemorates different meanings from all over India. In North and Western India, Diwali signifies the return of Ram, Laksman and Sita after 14 years in exile after defeating demon King Ravana, from the greatest epic Ramayan. In South India Diwali signifies the conquering of Asura Naraka, a powerful king of Assam who imprisoned tens of thousands of inhabitants. From North to South, the stories and legends of Diwali represent the classic truth of victory of good over evil and being the "festival of lights", lightening lamps gives meaning and helps us to reflect upon each significant purpose of good defeating evil.
