Hunter Prelude is partnering with the NSW Department of Education to deliver the Creating Opportunities: Transition to School Professional Development Program. Free training for Educators include: Writing Transition to School Statements, Guide to Formative and Summative Assessment, Positive Transition To School and more.
The program will assist Early Childhood Educators, Early Childhood Teachers and Directors to support all children transitioning to school including:
- Children with developmental delay and disability
- First Nations & Aboriginal children
- Children from low socio-economic backgrounds
- Other vulnerable children who required additional support
The Creating Opportunities: Transition to School Program will include targeted training as follows:
Stream 1: Educators and Services
- Formative and Summative Assessment: A practical guide where to start
- The How, What, and Why Positive Transition to School
- Writing Transition to School Statements
- Supporting a child with disability and or additional needs through transition
Stream 2: Teachers, Directors & Educational leaders
- Supporting a child with additional needs and or disability through transition
- Developing a successful transition to school program
- Establishing meaningful community partnerships
- Leading my team through transition

- Importance of Transition during COVID-19
- Supporting First Nations Families to Transition to School
- Trauma and Transition
- School Transition from Allied Heath Perspective
- Transitioning to school: the reflective teacher
