Just before 9 am on Friday (21 October), a car crashed into the front of Bright Beginnings Family Day Care Center on Central Grove in Broadmeadows, in the city's north, causing an 11-month-old to be hospitalised.
Educators at the service heard a "loud bang" and initially believed it to be an earthquake or gunshot before they looked outside and noticed the broken glass.
Police stated that the child was "fortunate to escape" major injury as they placed him on a stretcher and sent him to the hospital with a bump on their head.
The event did not result in any serious injuries, but three adults, including the car's driver, were brought to a hospital for observation.
