The Photo Observation template uses photos to focus on the child's learning and experiences. Taking photos during the observation period, can lead to an even richer information gathering as the photos are evidence of what the child is achieving and it provides more information in discovering the child's learning behaviours through their experiences.
The Photo Observation template includes a context box - to add an overall view of the observation, 3 photo boxes with descriptions - within each of the descriptions you can briefly add what the photo represents and what the child was learning/experiencing within the photo, future planning - to add a follow up experience from the observation and tick boxes for each of the Learning Outcomes, Principles and Practices - so you can choose which ones are appropriate. It also includes a Mickey Mouse theme.
