Post by aussieboy » Mon Mar 03, 2014 12:29 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCIC510A Establishing and implementing plans for cooperative behaviour
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Advanced Knowledge

Your Question?
How do you use reflective practice to examine your own expectations of what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable behaviour?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Im not sure its the right direction but...

Helping them to feel secure and letting them know your there to help them

Encourage them to use language to express their needs , wants and feelings

Giving them choices and letting them make some decisions

Im not sure if thats what they mean or if I'm on the right track

I think the question is asking more of how you stop and think about your practice regarding the different types of behaviour. For example if you ask children to use their inside voices however you scream across the room to get a child's attention, you should set an examples based on the expectations you set...

Hope this makes sense and here is some more info:

Thank you for your reply back, I read that pdf but I still don't really understand, so like you mean role modelling, making sure to behaviour to set a example is that what you mean?

I read the pdf but I don't see what section that is it on, maybe I missed something..

OK, I think you just need to understand what "reflective practice" means to help answer your question...

Try this:
