Pia (18 months)live with her mother and her mother's current partner .Both adult are addicted to drugs and Pia 's live is chaotic and unpredictable .Pia is small for her ago lags in small areas of development .Pia's mother's is emotional unavailable to her and as a result Pia is quirt detached .She seldom cries and when her mother does attempt to cuddle her Pia stiffens and pull away .Pia is rarely smiles ,she always seems to be hyper-alert and vigilant .
