Basic Principles Of Growth

Post by shveta83 » Tue Oct 01, 2013 11:49 am

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Development
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
I am doing development cluster and struggling with three questions
1)As an educator you will have an understanding of physical development, there are two basic principles of growth. From the following select the correct answer:
Cephalo-caudal and proximodistal
Mobility and quantitative physiological change
Proximo-distal and perceptual development
Locomotor and fine motor development
According to me Locomotor and fine motor skills but not sure .
2)An infant who first learns to turn her head, kick her legs, reach her arm over to the other side of her body, and then combines all these movements to roll over onto her stomach is exhibiting evidence of:
Dynamic systems theory
The cephalocaudal trend
Proximodistal trend
Fine motor skills
From my perspective it should be Proximodistal trend but it's showing incorrect
3) A child who has learnt to cut using scissors has mastered a Fine motor skill. This is referred to as:
Simple synergy
Reciprocal synergy
Sequential patterns
Kinaesthesia

Kinaesthesia according to me
I already did 1st attempt and doesnt want to take risk ..Please help

Thanks

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
1)Locomotor and fine motor development
2)Proximodistal trend
3) Kinaesthesia

Ok, used my good old friend "dictionary" to help me out because I have no idea on these. From what I understand:

1) Proximo-distal and perceptual development
2) Dynamic Systems theory
3)

Not too sure though, just search each in google to find out more information...

Hi
I'm doing these questions at the moment too. heres how i found info on it
1)As an educator you will have an understanding of physical development, there are two basic principles of growth. From the following select the correct answer:
Cephalo-caudal and proximodistal
thats in the text book "frameworks for learning and development" page 299

2)An infant who first learns to turn her head, kick her legs, reach her arm over to the other side of her body, and then combines all these movements to roll over onto her stomach is exhibiting evidence of:
google dynamic systems theory babies and read "baby steps and beyond"

3) A child who has learnt to cut using scissors has mastered a Fine motor skill. This is referred to as:
Simple synergy
Reciprocal synergy
Sequential patterns
Kinaesthesia -
try googling fine motor manipulation- synergy and open up the PDF "fine motor development."
this site wont let me post links or else i would have just done that.
Hope this helps you!
