Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCFC507A – Use music to enhance children’s experience and development
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge

Your Question?
4. Kate and her husband own a music shop and have offered to bring in some instruments to show the children.

a) How can you best set up the environment to best support this experience?

b) What issues will you take into consideration?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
a) How can you best set up the environment to best support this experience?
I would create as much space as possible for Kate and her husband to allow them to bring in their instruments but have enough room so the children aren’t squashed and crowded around them, making it difficult to talk about and show off the instruments.

b) What issues will you take into consideration?
When moving furniture around to make more space, I would have to make sure that the furniture is still sturdy and won’t be a hazard or cause lack of supervision.

Are there any other issues to consider?

Yes, you're on the right track... You could also maybe setup a semicircle with chairs around the semi circle for children to sit on to see the instruments. You could have some children sitting in front of the chairs and the rest of the children sitting in chairs. It just makes it easier for children to see the demonstration without having to get up from where they are sitting... It will probably be a hands on experience so children should know before hand that if they are allowed to touch the instruments they should wait until they are called...

Hope this helps,
