CHCECE024 - Using The Planning Cycle To Promote Belonging, Being and Becoming

Post by clk89522 » Wed Jan 28, 2015 5:53 pm

Hi everyone,

So I have this question in my diploma and I just want to see if I am on track. I am studying it via a work traineeship and my trainer rarely visits and doesn't answer her phone and to top it off our educational leader at work got offered another position at another centre so I have no one to turn to for support.

So the question is: Give an example of how you can use the planning cycle to promote and support the concept of belonging, being and becoming?

My thoughts on this was... By using the planning cycle in my programming and observations I can then ask families for their input and ideas to further help and support the child.

Am I heading on the right track or am I way off?

Thankyou for your support.

Yes, you're on the right tack! Here are some more ideas you can also include:

Strategies to include Belonging:
Being respectful and accepting of diversity
Showing mutual respect
Have knowledge of families within the centre
Provide positive and caring relationships
Engage and interact with children
Making families feel welcomed
Appreciating children for their individuality
Create meaningful learning within the environment
Meet each individual child’s needs
Provide a sense of security

Strategies to include Being:
Appreciating skills
Providing opportunities for children to explore and learn
Extending on children’s interests
Embracing culture
Supporting individual children
Having respectful relationships with children and families
Understanding children uniqueness and individuality
Recognizing each child’s values and skills
Allowing children to express themselves
Celebrating children’s achievements

Strategies to include Becoming:
Implementing school readiness
Encouraging independence
Focusing on child’s positives
Enabling children to be confident
Reflecting on individual growth
Aspiring others
Acknowledging self
Maintaining and developing relationships
Building foundations for learning
Expanding on skills

Hope this helps,
