Scenario: Mita, Anna and Peter - Moving From The Blue Moutains

I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS TOPIC AT ALL COULD SOMEONE GUIDE ME THROUGH THE QUESTIONS PLEASE SO I CAN UNDERSTAND. HELP IM SO CONFUSED :( I AM STRUGGLING WITH THIS UNIT

Read the following scenario and answer the questions
Task:
Provide written answers for the following 7 questions related to the scenario

Scenario
You work in an early childhood education and care service in Western Sydney, and you have families applying to attend your service regularly. Your service is very involved in local community events, and you are located near community facilities such as the library. The service is located close to Sydney Olympic Park.
Mita (Anna’s mother), has phoned your service, and will visit the service today. Mita, Peter and Anna have just moved to Homebush from the Blue Mountains, they speak English fluently, however it is their second language. Mita is interested in enrolling Anna in your service as she is returning to work soon. Anna will accompany her mother Mita on the visit today. Peter has requested a visit to the service after work today and he is keen to know as much as possible about the service.

Question 1
Develop a checklist of information that you would explain to Mita and Peter during their visit (identify a minimum of 5 points).




Question 2
List 4 questions you can ask Mita and Peter to find out about Anna and their family. (consider information that would help you care for Anna, and support her family – including understanding cultural life and family needs).

For Question 2

Is there any medical history we need to know? Any Medical management plans
Are there any specific cultural or religious requirements that we need to be aware of?
Do Sally’s children have any specific dietary requirements?
Has any of her children been diagnosed or is currently undergoing diagnosis or a disability or special needs
What does Sally’s children normally do in the morning or afternoon at home?
Do they have an activity or have a special interest they like?
Immunisation status
Any court orders?

Q3: What would help a family to know about when moving to a new place? 24 hr doctors, 24 hr chemists, contacts of emergency services, things to do in the area on the weekend etc.
Q4: Such as subscribing to mailing lists, check community websites, community notice boards in the shopping centre etc.
Q5: Maybe helping in the weekend working bee, volunteering at the centre, bringing in recycled materials for craft etc.

Think about how you can communicate with parents such as regular conversations, emails, communication book, etc.

How will you communicate and provide information to Mita and Peter about Anna whilst she is enrolled at the service? (consider things like how you might inform them of her learning and development, interests, incidents etc.)
