CHCIC301E - Developmental Behavior Characteristics In Children

Post by rensimpson76 » Fri Mar 22, 2013 5:04 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Promote positive behaviour Activity 2:4
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
For each child write down * one likely developmental characteristic that may influence their behaviour
* an appropriate Educator response to that behaviour
Eight months
Eighteen months
Four years old
Nine years old
Eleven years old

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
8 months: tired, overstimulated, crying. Appropriate educator response: rock the child to sleep, hold the child, speak softly, place infant in cot.
18 months: may bite another child out of frustration. Provide child with another activity, address their feelings
4 year old: gets bossy and hurts someone's feelings. Teach the child about feelings and about how we treat people.
9 years old: ?
11 years old?

Description and Message:
Just want to know if I am on the right track. I am unsure how to answer about the 9 and 11 year old as I have never worked with this age group. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Yes, you're on the right track with your response.

I'm adding an attachment which can give you some ideas for the older age group.

Hope this helps,
