Presanthi and her husband Jim have their child, sue-Lyn,in your service. They are not arrived to collect sue-Lyn at their usual time. A lady comes into the service later and says her name is Mandy, she tells you she is here to collect sue-Lyn as their parents are late home from work.

Yes you're on the right track with your response.

The first thing you can do is check the child's enrollment form to confirm that Mandy is on the authorized to pick up child list. If she is on there, you will need to ask her for her drivers license to confirm that her name matches the one on the enrollment form. If she isn't on there you will need to ring a parent and ask them, Mandy will still need to provide identification if you are not familiar with her.

For the second part of the question, you will need to look through the National Regulations, Policies and Procedures etc and write why you are taken the above steps. Yes, to maintain a safe environment and for child protection but you will need to add more detail to this response.
