CHCCS400 - Differences & Responsibility of Regs & NQS

Post by bronwyn.71 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 1:19 pm

Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCCS400C and CHORG303C - Work within a relevant legal and ethical framework and participate effectively in the work environment.
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
1 .What is the difference between the Education and Care National Regulations and the National Quality Standards?
2. What responsibility do you have as an early childhood educator in relation to the National Quality Standards?
3. What responsibility do you have as an early childhood educator in relation to the Education and Care Services National Regulations?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
1. The Education and Care Services National Regulations and the Educational and Care National Law makes up the National Quality Framework. Together they set the National Quality Standards and regulatory framework for most LDC< OOSHC< FDC and preschools/kindergartens on all states and territories.

The National Quality Standards are a list of standards that must meet National regulations and will be assessed to ensure all care services are providing quality education and care. The Centre's will be assessed and rated and the ratings will be available to families to make an informed decision about the services providing education and care to their children.

2. To continue to provide the highest quality educational programs and experiences that promote the children's learning and development and to refer to the NQS and the EYLF when making decisions in regards to setting up of environments in regards to children's health and safety. Also to create warm respectful relationships with children and families of the Centre and positive relationships amongst the staff to maintain a calm, relaxed environment where the children feel emotionally safe, secure and happy.

3.. To ensure that staff ratios are followed, to ensure that Centre policies and procedures are followed. If there is anything that you find could pose a risk to the safety of staff and children to report it to the Director immediately. Include improvements/recommendations in your QIP.

Not sure if any of these answers are right. Have been trying to research all day and have confused myself even more......can someone point me in the right direction.
