Placement length

Hi guys..
I'm starting the cert 3 tomorrow. I know I'll probably find this out then but just curious of how placements fit in with your study?
Do you do for example 2 weeks full time placement mon-fri then go back to study, then a further 2 weeks at the end of the course?
I have a friend who did it at a different place and did one day a week of placement for 6 months.. Throughout the course. Just wondering what the norm is?
