Hi Lorina,
I have just started a position at a new centre as a Lead Educator and was paid by level 4.1.
I have my diploma and 1 year and 3 months experience as a Lead Educator and I was paid by level 4.2 at my previous position.
Could you please clarify the following for me - Does "4.1 on commencement" mean commencement in the position at a new centre or commencement as a Lead Educator in general?

Hi Eni,

On commencement means the first year, you start working after you have completed your qualification... each year thereafter your wage increases until you reach level 4.3.

AS you stated, you should be at Level 4.2 since you have already completed 1 year of work with your Diploma qualification. Since you have just started at a new centre, during your probation period its common to be put on a lower level until your position is confirmed after probation then you're put onto the right level.

However, I would just confirm with the Director...

Answer 1: I start again working as cook and floater (now I am diploma qualified) they told me I will get 2 different pay rate. I have asked during my employment that I should be paid higher rate but I been told that cert 3 is been called unqualified assistant and my pay rate is ok. it was verbal discussion .
AnS 2. I have completed Cert 3 in June 2012 and I applied for an educator role but looking at my hotel cook experience they offered me cook role and I accepted .
Ans 3 yes since mid September 2012 , I worked as cook and floater.

I completed diploma in March 2017. And current position is cook and floater

I'll be sending an enquiry to the Fair Work Commission because I'm not 100% sure what a pay rate should be in your situation. I'm thinking you should be Level 3.4, however since your also a cook I'm not 100% sure... Ill help you get this sorted....
