Hi!

The following are some key costs to consider:

Initial Setup Costs

Educator Induction Package: Approximately $425 for induction, orientation, and resources.

Public Liability Insurance: Around $547.50 per year.

Family Day Care Australia Membership: $49.90 per year.

ABN Registration: $99.

Development Application (if required): Approximately $2,000.

Fire Equipment and First Aid Kit: Costs vary depending on the specific items needed.

Educational Resources and Equipment: Costs vary based on the materials and supplies you need.

Ongoing Costs

Educator Levy: $9.80 per week.

Professional Development: Costs vary depending on the training and courses you choose.

Additional Considerations

Property Improvements: To comply with Education and Care National Regulations and WH&S legislation.

Electronic Devices: For administrative tasks and communication.

Car Restraint Certificate and Training: Approximately $60.

These are some of the essential costs to consider when setting up your family day care. It's also a good idea to consult with an accountant to understand which expenses are tax-deductible and to get a more detailed financial plan.

Hope this helps!

That's great you're thinking about starting your own daycare! From what I know, getting your small family daycare up and running in NSW can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000 depending on things like the space, equipment, and licensing. You’ll need to factor in stuff like insurance, safety gear, and educational toys. If you’re starting small, you can definitely keep the budget on the lower end. It’s also worth looking into grants or funding for childcare services.

Hey! Glad you found the post helpful! Starting a small family daycare can be rewarding. For budgeting, I’d recommend looking at costs like materials, insurance, and any necessary licenses. A rough ballpark might be around $5,000 to $10,000 to get going, but it really depends on what you want to offer.
