Sophie is very distressed and does not wish to participate in the planned weekly cooking experience.
*identify which development area this relates to and the issue of concern. (does this mean what development area does cooking come under OR the fact she doesn't want to?)
* How would you manage the situation?
* How would you document this and who would you share the info with?
Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated
Thanks LY

Does it give any other information in the scenario such as the child's age?
Its hard to figure out which developmental area this relates to based on one experience. I think it's probably referring to social and emotional development. In order to gain a clearer understanding it will probably be a good idea to observe the child in different situations to find out the real cause of the issue.
In managing this issue I will remove the child from this activity, calm her and reassure her and provide her with an alternate activity to do while waiting. After the activity I would also talk to the child to try and fins out why she was distressed.
I would document this in a written anecdotal record and share it with room leader and child's parents to try and resolve this issue.

Thank you so much for your reply. No unfortunately it doesn't mention her age.
