- CCTV Expansion: Major providers such as G8 Education and Affinity Education are installing surveillance systems throughout their centres, reinforcing a culture of accountability and transparency.
- Phone Usage Restrictions: There's growing interest in limiting personal device use on the floor to reduce distractions and heighten supervision, though implementation may vary by provider.
- National Register Proposal: Queensland is lobbying for a Commonwealth-wide database to track childcare professionals across states, making it harder for offenders to quietly relocate.
While widely applauded, the reforms have also prompted dialogue about balancing child safety with educator dignity, especially concerning male educators who often face disproportionate scrutiny. Advocacy groups have called for safeguards that uphold fairness without compromising vigilance.
