The Literacy Hub has planned for an exciting new line-up of webinars that will be running from May until November 2022. These eight-part series are for Foundation to Year 2 teachers will explore 'The Big 6' components of reading development, with the series culminating in an exploration of the science of writing.
You can join them for the Literacy Hub’s first webinar which has eight-part series on ‘The Big 6’ – an exploration of six key components that support reading development. This webinar will discuss the 6 key components that will increase the development of reading among children.
The first webinar will start with a whirlwind tour of ‘The Big 6’ of reading, followed by an exploration of each of the Big 6. The series will culminate in an exploration of the science of writing.
In this session, you’ll hear from presenters Aimee Bloom and Kerrie Shanahan as they explore the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of The Big 6. You’ll also have an opportunity to share your strategies and ideas with other educators while refreshing your understanding of these concepts.
Aimee Bloom - Aimee is an experienced teacher and educational leader who is passionate about supporting teachers to deliver evidence-based best practice teaching.
Kerrie Shanahan - Kerrie has a strong background in education having taught in both the primary and tertiary sectors. She is an experienced educational author who has published over 150 books for students, as well as many varied resources for teachers, specialising in literacy in the early years.
