Generally, children of 3/4 years old developmentally become ready for the use of computers. But we have to remember that Children aged 2-5 years should have no more than an hour a day, and children aged 5-18 years should have no more than two hours a day. Using computers for learning purposes and using a computer for other purposes are different. So, parental guidance is recommended.

It is also true that books are more reliable for the kids as too much use of screens has some severe side effects like poor eyesight, feeling mentally distressed and low, or slowly becoming socialised, etc. But the fact is that nowadays keeping children away from screens is hardly possible. Using a computer frequently helps a child to be tech-savvy, which is good for him/her.

So, as we know everything has its own good and bad, so the result is depending on how one uses it. In parental guidance, a child under 12 years can use a computer for learning purposes, but not more than the fixed hours that have been mentioned above.

Thanks
