“A nation that does not read much does not know much. And a nation that does not know much is more likely to make poor choices in the home, the marketplace, the jury box, and the voting booth. And those decisions ultimately affect the entire nation...the literate and illiterate.”
Hi,
Reading with children should be purposeful and fun. The aim of reading to children should be to send a good educational moral message to children and not just for the sake of 'reading a book' with the children. Reading to children can be very rewarding and a positive experience when practiced in best correct way possible, it should get their brains thinking and taught new words and help children develop respect for books and reading. I got to realize that there are stories which have a beautiful unique message to be deliver to children; such as learning to accept our differences,or about making friends and learning to share and many more amazing stories children can benefit from. Choose books which you think will get the children excited and not board, for example I felt that the boys in my room tend to love books about dragons, trams or fast cars, so choose your books wisely! Below are some videos of how you can read better with children....
