Gas Appliance in Childcare

Hello,

Is anyone aware of any restrictions that apply to using a gas stove/cooktop in childcare centres?

From the research I have done so far, there seems to be only guidelines relating to gas appliances such as radiant heaters.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I haven't been able to find much information myself...

What state are you in? We may need to look into the Health and Safety Act for your state...

Thank you.

I am in WA.

So far still cannot find anything specific indicating that this is restricted. From the provided link from socialispliice, we can see indications that gas bottles and radiant gas appliance need to be secured, guarded etc.

Would be nice to clarify, I would be interested in swapping out an electric cooktop at our centre, it is not very efficient and to me seems pretty dangerous to staff with the elements :)

Thank you.

From the information found, it doesn't look like the are any restrictions on this - provided the general guidelines for safety are followed.
