Closing my Family daycare

Hi, Im currently working in family daycare, looking after 5 children over the week. Due to personal reasons, Im looking at unregistering with my scheme and just looking after a couple of children at home as an informal arrangement. Was just wondering if anyone could offer advice of how much notice I need to give my scheme as I cant find any info on this. Is it just the police check, working with children card, first aid certificate and insurance I need to offer a babysitting service as I obviously already have all this? Thanks for any advice :D

Hi Kirsty,

I think you only need to give 2-4 weeks notice to the scheme. (Is it listed in your contract??)

I just read your post and thought that the following link might be useful for you.

I think this is the relevant licensing authority in your state

http://www.communities.wa.gov.au/childr ... ault.aspx/

Check the links to the left of the page.

Hope this helps in some way

Hey there,

If you leave your scheme, do your families still get any assistance from the government? I was under the impression they don't however I am just asking the question as I do not know.

Thanks for the advice. It was 14 days notice and I will be closing this weekend :D

If you look on the Family Assist website, theres an option of registering as a Registered Carer and then I can still continue to look after some of the children just as a registered carer instead of being approved. Families can still claim CCB but not the CCR payments
