Baby Won't Stop Crying

Recently been asked by a parent at work on strategies to deal with her baby that won't stop crying... Some tips include:
- Try using a pram or even a rocker. When you put baby down try putting her in a pram and gently rock the pram the movements may settle her. You could also try the rocker in the same way.
- When baby settles, give them a toy (rattle etc) to play with. Babies like the sound when they shake it.
- When they are crying it's best to leave them for a few minutes and they may settle themselves. However you must remember that a baby cries for a reason so if you have checked her and are positive that nothing is wrong the next time your baby cries just leave her for a few mins to see if they will stop on their own.
- When you put your baby own try putting on some calming music or nature sound
- Try placing a mobile (or hang some butterflies) from the ceiling above the cot, so it hangs down where your baby can see it.
- Baby may need to be burped even if they have already burped previously. May be stuck so gently pat on back for a few minutes.
