Hi everyone.
I work in the 2-3 room and the toddlers are showing a great interest in sea life and underwater. The assistants in my room and i have some great ideas to extend on this but was wondering what other ideas people have. Also i was wondering if anyone knew of a company or person who comes out to centres to talk about sea life i know there is someone who does reptiles and etc. I was also wondering if anyone knew of any wildlife companies that give donations of resources, pamphlets etc to centres.

My centre has a fish pond and we do group times outside around it in nice weather with marine biology related flashcards. Each day a different child has a turn at feeding, helping to scoop out the pond etc which teaches repsonsibility.

There is a company that brings sea creatures to centres! They came to mine a few months ago... can't remember the name though But they brought things like seaweed, shells, fish (even a clownfish - the children were very excited to see Nemo!), an eel, crabs, starfish, sea snails etc. They set up a little pool of the animals the children could touch and hold like the starfish, they really loved that. I'll have a search and see if I can find the name of the company
