Provider Approval Assessment

I'm a newbie to this forum and just wanted to ask a few questions.

1: Are there any business'/people/associations that help train or prepare for the Provider Approval Assessment test ? I read somewhere that there are centres that can train/prepare people for this, if so would anyone have contact details of any in NSW.

2: I have also heard that the Assessment test are only done once a year in NSW, is this true ? if not then how regularly are the assessment tests held.

3: Is a provider number recognised nationally ? i.e if I obtain provider approval in NSW can I use it in another state.

Any input that anyone may have will be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Yes there are places, people, organisations etc that help with the process with explanations, advice an so on.
NSW Childcare alliance is one of those
as is CELA. I'm sure there are more out there.

I'm not sure how often tests are held you can find information about the process here:

Again, I'm not certain but you are approved under the National Law by the child care regulatory authority in your state or territory. So whilst you may be under National Law in accepting to be a provider you may have to register with states & territories individually. You might only be able to operate in the single jurisdiction for example NSW
There are safety and emergency management regulations associated, differing local laws, learning frameworks and more. In any case it is your state/territory regulatory authority which will grant you a license.
Having said that there are individuals who operate out of 2 or more states or territories so this must be possibilty most probably after seperate registrations of some sort.

The Federal Government in partnership with State and Local Governments are making these processes more thorough in an effort to ensure only suitable candidates are chosen. There's always new legislation and regulations coming through so if you any questions I'd highly recommend your contact the Department and they can direct you from there:

Hi all,

I am in the process of working on my policies and procedures for my service approval (vic). Does anyone work for a service or has a service policy they can share with me that shows that the parents collect the fees from the educator directly on behalf of the provider.

your assistance is much appreciate.

Regards

Hi, Lorina thanks for the fee policy - very detailed.

I was wondering if there are any service providers on here operating an FDC service, as I need to set up an educator and service agreement.

regards

Obeida

Thanks for sharing!

This is a popular topic and lots of educators who are currently going for provider approval need a lot of support so anything anyone can share in the interviews or questions asked or scenarios given any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated if any educators who have been through the process can share!

If anyone can provide assistance for the service approval (not CCS) would be greatly appreciated.

With the provider approval you need to know operational requirements well! chapter 4 of the NQF.

I literally read and re-read that chapter and then i summarised it and kept tabs on sections where i felt i would need to know.

if in victoria for the scenerios' i had relevant question relating too:

- immunization legislation- no jab, no play rules - why it came into effect etc
- supervision rules
- notifiable events

It is detailed in the NQF - READ, READ AND RE-READ THAT section...the regulation and the law can be taken in but i didn't feel the need to refer to them at al.

The short answer questions are more about your experience and your role in an ecec setting.
I am in FDC-VIC.

Good luck to all and if nayone can provide assistance with the service approval would be great!

thanks in advance
