Qualifications Needed For Director/2IC

Doing diploma and need to know what qualifications a director and assistant directors need. I know they need a diploma but is there anything else?

Hi Sevans,
Yes, you're right you would need to have a diploma for this position and also it's also favorable if you have an advance diploma. In the advance diploma you study about how to run and manage a childcare service. It's not necessary to have this but it will give you a bit more opportunity if you're interested in applying for this sort of position.

Levels or bands are based on the amount of time you have held your diploma. So if you have had your diploma for 3 years I think you will be in level 4.3. However this also depends on your experience and how long you've been working in childcare.
You must at least have had a year or more experience when applying for a director's role so best bet to start as an authorized supervisor and work your way up....
How long until you finish your diploma?

I've got 9 assignments to go and can't wait! So over studying!
