New Diploma Course 1st July 2016

Hello

I have just heard that the Diploma Course for Childcare is being changed.
As of 1st July 2016 there will be additional units added.
I have a friend that is studying at Selmar and they have already informed them of the changes.
The students are trying to finish their units before this time so they don't have to do the new units and finish their diploma.

Does anyone have any information regarding this?
I'm currently doing my diploma and about to finish but am now stressing as I'm not sure what is happening.

Please advise if anyone knows anything about this

Hi Diana,

There has been a previous discussion within this forum of new units being introduced to the Diploma. However when I checked the units being added they are already part of the Diploma (as electives) so I assume that they are being taken from being an elective to being a compulsory unit. I have contacted a few course providers to find out exactly what the deal is as I have not been able to find anything on the TAFE website or anything about any of the changes itself.

Once I gather some more information I will let you know about it!

Hi Again Diana,

I just tracked down the four units that will be added into the Diploma Qualification from the 01 July, according to students who have been told the news already.

They are:

CHCCS400C - Work within a Relevant Legal and Ethical Framework (theory & prac)
HLTHIR404D - Work Effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People (theory & prac)
CHCORG428A - Reflect on and Improve Own Professional Practice (theory & prac)
CHCORG506E - Coordinate the Work Environment (theory & prac)

I will continue to follow up on my end until I get some more details...
