SS007- Scenario: Gia and Hafa

Your Question?
A)Gia (4 yrs)has returned home after living in china with her parents for the last 3 years . WHERE SHE was cared for by a chinese nanny who spoken a mixture of mandarin and english .Gia is very quirt and shy and has never had experiences og group care . she has been at the centre for three weeks but so far has communicated mostly by facial experiences and gestures .
Question :-what activities would you provide for here? who else could ypu talk to about Gia's social development and what would you ask them ? what is a strategy you could use to help her settle in to care?

B)Hafa (18 monts) finds it difficulty to interact with her peers . she tends to hit , pul hair , shatch or push .Hafa uses sounds and gestrures to communicate and is able to follow simple directions

question :-what else could you ask Hafa's parent about ?provide 3 strategies you would use to address Hafa's hitting , pushing and pulling of hair? what type of plane would you put in place for Hafa 's behaviours?

Think of activities that Gia can get involved with others group games, small group activities etc. maybe possible to get in contact with the nanny. Think of positive way to settle into care... Include mandarin language into the program, sing songs, use familiar words etc.

For Hafa look for different ways of communicating positively between friends...
