Self Assessment

Hi everyone,
I am a kindergarten assistant who is trying to help our new director with the QIP. The self assessment part of it was not completed properly last year and now we are struggling to get it all sorted out. Can someone please clarify, do we have to have evidence for each of the elements? On our self assessment from last year, some elements do not have anything written under evidence.
I hope I am making sense.
I love this site. I will be donating in appreciation of everyones help and support.
Thanks again....

From what I understand you will need to provide evidence under each of the elements... By providing this evidence proves what your service setting is doing in regards to the National Regualtions/EYLF/Quality Areas etc which is integrated within the self assessment... If you get to one of the elements that you are not implementing within your centre you will probably have to discuss this with the director and put an action plan in place to make sure that you are completing this in the future. During assessment the assessor will be looking for the evidence under the elements you provided in your self assessment so it's important that you add as much detail as possible... If you need help with what evidence to provide under each of the elements i think I have document which provides details on what assessors are looking for.. Let me know so I can upload it for you...
BTW - Thank you once again for your support and generosity! We really appreciate your kind gesture!

Thanks L.A,
If you do have a document which provides details on what assessors are looking for, I would really appreciate it if you could upload it. You must be close to having your baby by now though, so if you can't do it don't worry!
Thank you so much for your ongoing support, you are fantastic....
I noticed you posted my reply at 2.26 a.m. You wern't having contractions were you?
Anyway, good luck with the bub, I hope everything all goes well for you..

I'm attaching a copy of the document I mentioned in my above post. It's a copy of the Draft NQS. Even though it's only a draft it does give details about each of the elements and what assessors are looking for so hopefully this should be able to give you some ideas...

No, no contractions as yet! I don't think I'll be able to type if I was having them! LOL... I've been told they are unbearable!

Hi Lorina,
If you can help me what do I need to know for a possible interview as a childcare educator? I heard the word ratio, can you explain a little bit about it? Or can you tell me what sort of documents do I need to read?
Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Have you had any experience working with children?
Have you worked in a childcare setting?
Have you got any qualifications?

That's good. So you have had some experience working with children during your placement... You could start working as a casual to gain some experience...
