Scenario 2
A parent of a child in the 3-5 years room comes to make a complaint about the group leader who works in the same room as you. The parent says the staff member ignores her child and often yells loudly at her child. Once, as she was leaving the center, she thought she heard a loud slap and a child crying. You have also heard your colleague yell at children occasionally.

What policies and legislation could you refer to when handling this matter?
  • Ombudsman Act 1974
    Privacy Act 1998
Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998
Education and Care Services National Regulations
    Privacy Policy
    Complaints and Grievances Policy
    Child Protection Policy
    Code of Conduct Policy
Incident, injury, trauma and illness policy
Any others to add?
any that arent really relevant in this situation?
opinions would be great :)
