Fairyland
The educators heard a group of children talking about fairies. At group time the educators discussed with the children their ideas on what would be needed to build a fairyland for the fairies. The children suggested homes and places for the fairies to play. The next day the children discovered the fairy village.

How have the educators inspired surprise and intrigue for the children?
My answer:
The Educators have heard the children talking about fairies and decided to extend upon this idea by discussing with the children about what would be needed to build a fairyland and to surprise the children, they have actually built the fairyland secretly. Note that children like surprise and they must have been amazed by seeing the fairy village

List three ways the educators could add to the fairy village to extend play and continue the magic of surprise.
1)By providing children with more materials such as leaves, logs, pebbles, pine cones, sand and gravel, shells etc.
2) ?
3) ?
I don't know what to add for the 2 other ways. Could you please give some ideas for it.

Regards,
Maya

Wow I have huge issues with this personally in that the scenario states that the educators decided to build the fairyland. That to me should never be done as it means that children lose an opportunity to be creative and expressive...anyway I digress.

Other ways to extend this are;
offering materials and tools that enable children to create their own idea of what a fairy looks like and use it to play within the village.
Exploring books about fairies

Reading books about fairies
enabling children to add to the fairy village themselves
pending children's age the children could perhaps paint mini fairy statues to place in the fairy garden.
Fairy songs
Fairy costumes for dress up play the children could then use pretend play where they are the fairies.
furthering on from the dress up, turn the room into a fairy land where the children would get to create items out of boxes, paper and other materials to use and create the room into a fairy land.
Perhaps Tinkerbell on DVD or the fairies??
