David has just arrived at the centre, his wife has just been admitted to hospital in an emergency situation. David runs his own small business and is distraught, his 2 children aged 2 and 4 years old are only booked into care for two days a week as he can not afford any more care. With his wife in hospital and no extended family nearby, he does not know what to do. He must work to support his wife and family.
A space is available for the 4 year old but the 2 year old will put the centre over numbers on Thursday and Friday if you take them.
A) How can you support David?
B) What regulation will help you support this family?
C) Who do you need to contact?
D) What financial support may be available to cover the cost of care for this family?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
Not sure about these questions but so far I have got this.
A) You can support David by referring him to SDN Child and Family Services Inc or The Benevolent Society who can help assist David.
B) The regulations that will help support this family are Children and Young Person (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and Child Wellbeing and Child Protection.
C) Not to sure about this question.
D) The financial support that may be available to cover the cost of car for this family is by seeking advice from centrelink or other agencies that offer support to families with medical emergencies.
