Scenario: Child Pinching During Story Time

Hello!

pls tell me whether this kind of reactions are appropriate. How could I explain this?

At story time, A (4 years) pinched the child sitting next to her. The child let out a huge wail and B,the Educator, told her firmly that as she was hurting and disturbing the other children she wouldn't be able to stay and listen to the story. He told her to go with C, the other Educator. C took Anna into the kitchen to get the cutlery and to lay the table for lunch.

Thanks

Rather than remove the child A from listening to the story the educator should of given her a choice such as 1) Keep her hands to herself and continue to listen to the story or 2) Move away and sit at the back by herself while listening to the story. If Child A would rather go and help set the table then she knows she just has to "pinch" to be able to do this "fun" task instead...

Hope this helps,
