case scenario: Arissa, 3 years has come to the service bearing a bag of fabric pieces,a bag of margarine containers and a bag of egg cartons. They have been saved by her grandma over a long period of time and Arissa is excited to bring them in and use them to make things.Arissa wants to start straight away and get her peers involved.Carly, the educator, quickly moves to take advantage of the children's excitement and the new materials.
Now here is the question that I am stuck on...the questions asks Explain how Carly would alter her expectations of how children in the group will participate if aged 2 - 3 and 3 - 5. I have tried answering this in this way, pointing out that the skills set would be different for eah age and maybe the educator could perhaps have a different kind of activity prepared based on the children's ages and what she percieves their abilities to be......other than this I am stuck.I am getting no help from my college as it seems that I am asking too many questions of the lecturers.....Thanking anyone in advance if they can help me out.

Yes, you're right...

For the 2 - 3 year olds you could use the fabric to do collages, use the margarine containers for colour sorting activity and use the egg cartons to create caterpillars.

For the 3 - 5 year old they could use the fabric to create clothes for paper dolls they could make, use the margarine containers to make boats and the egg cartons to create flowers or animals.

The younger will need help and Carly would probably have to prepare an activity for them to use the materials as for the older children they will have their own ideas on how to use each of the materials...

Hope this helps,
