Hi,is there anyone can help me with the questions about this scenario?i'm stuck with this question.please help me!
thans :)

Abdul has worked in the nursery for the past 10 years. He is an experienced and committed educator and is well liked and respected by parents.
Abdul has approached the director with the idea of starting a baby clothing and equipment pool where parents can buy and swap clothing and toys as well as various nursery equipment. Abudul feels that this will not only help families financially but will also act as a way of drawing families together and help parents to meet other parents.
In response to this, the director sighs heavily ,saying,'it 'll just create more work for us.There isn't enugh time as it is to do everything that needs to be done and anywaay the children will be confused, they won't know what isn't theirs anymore.' Abudo goes away, feeling dejected.

a)If you were the Director, how would you have responded to Abdul's idea?

b)How could Abdul approach the director with his idea in order to gain a positive response?

In your opinion what do you think about this idea? Using this what would you say to Abdul?

As Abdul, maybe he can come up with a plan of action of how to make his idea work without causing too much extra work for the staff... Maybe he can be "team leader" on this project...

Hi Lorina,
Thanks for the response,
my answer:
Well, Abdul I think it's a good idea of starting a bay clothing and equipment pool.Would yo please show me your action plan with this idea?
otherwise it'll just create more work for us. There isn't enough time as it is to do everything that need s to be done and anyway the childrren will be confused, they won't know what isn't theirs anymore.

Do i need to write the details about the action plan? would you please help me on the details (such as give some examples of this action plan??
am i on the right track?
thanks,i appreciate your help:)

Hi Judy,

In your response I wouldn't add the negative comments from the scenario. If an educator has an idea then I think it's important as a director to try and accommodate the idea if it's possible. it will boost staff morale and strengthen relationships within the service. You could ask Abdul about his idea, how he thinks we should start maybe with a poster, an email to parents, information in the newsletter etc. Maybe you could place 2 buckets for clothing and one for toys where families could add their items outside in the foyer. These items can then be taken by families at their will etc.

Just an idea on how this idea can be started!
