Reporting Potentially Harmful Equipment or Furniture

The question relates to broken or harmful equipement and furniture and my response is as follows....Im just wondering if this is enough of an answer or if it needs to be more detailed?

You are employed as an Educator at a Long Day Care Service and find one of the hazards above - who would you report potentially harmful equipment or furniture to?

As stated in the ‘Staff Handbook’ for Kindergarten Kids (*named changed for privacy), “Staff are instructed to report defects they may notice to the Nominated Supervisor immediately. These defects will be passed on to the Workplace Health and Safety Representative immediately.”

Re: Is this enough of an answer? Legal cluster question!

Sorry, my mistake...Its not from the legal cluster but actually from the Health & Safety cluster. My brain has gone all foggy from all the studying!

You could also include that you will assess the hazard to identify the risk before reporting it. For example: if you see a broken toy on the shelf, you aren't just going to leave it until you speak to the nominated supervisor, since you have identified the hazard, it's a medium risk since it could hurt a child and you remove it from the child's environment and place it in the storeroom. From here, then you let the supervisor know....

This may help:
