Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: Module 3: Inclusive Practices in Early Childhood
Your Assignment Type: Case Scenario
Currently Working in Childcare? Yes
Your knowledge: Basic Knowledge
Your Question?
It has been decided that your centre will extend the preschool children's self esteem by giving them more autonomy and control within the program. Staff have established a number of practices related to routines to encourage independence and responsibility. Some examples include the children cleaning up after art experiences.
The children are encouraged to wash brushes and generally tidy the area. They are also encouraged to fold and put away sheets and washers as they come back from the laundry. The children enjoy setting the lunch table and serving their own drinks and fruit.
You have been asked to prepare a program that will continue this process and allow the children more autonomy and responsibility in their activities and play.
a) what type of program can you plan to do this?
b) what type of activities will you plan?
c) how will you resource the children?
d) what environmental changes can you make to support this program?
What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
My answers so far are:
